“Too Many Turtles” is a fast-paced, head-to-head tactical card game with a honorable message: “Save the Turtles”. A typical game takes roughly 25-30 minutes, with players laying down turtle cards and moving them around the three rows in their playing area in order to gain the upper hand and win the current round. The first player to win two rounds is declared the victor. This game, at the time of posting, is currently seeking your support on Kickstarter. Before we delve deeper into the gameplay, I’d like point out that my copy was a prototype so everything you see and read about here is subject to change. I’m also required by FTC regulations to disclosed that I was paid to cover this game, but any and all thoughts remain my own.

As both an adult and a parent, I recognize how important a solid education is in the grand scheme of things. Sure, I haven’t used the Quadratic Formula since High School, but I have had to use basic math on a regular basis…especially with some of the Euro-tabletop games I play. I’m also an accountant, so there’s that too. That’s why I enjoy playing educational games that test these skills, especially with those who still have their whole life ahead of them (like my kids). “HoliMaths X”, a 1-6 player game that’ll be launching on Kickstarter in September of 2016, is one such item that focuses heavily on multiplication. Before we begin, I’d like to thank Matt Roman from HoliPlay Games for sending me a prototype for preview purposes. It’s important to stress that prototypes are not reflective of the final product, making everything you read about here (including the rules) subject to change.
Apparently, Will Smith’s fear of robots running amok was justified (watch your “I, Robot” kids). In this instance you play the role of a human who is being hunted by robots across a British landscape. The maps are procedurally-generated in this sandbox world, meaning that you’re experiences in one game may not mimic that of the next. Your goal? Survive, any way you can. You’ll need to stealthily move around the foliage to stay hidden, but also scavenge food and weapons to help you in your quest. “Sir, You Are Being Hunted” is currently under development, though you can pay to play early via Steam’s Early Access program.
